An Update on Dare2Care Gala and the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation

The New Year is off to a great start for our nonprofit. This is a very exciting time of growth and opportunity for the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation!

Our mission to offer education, empowerment and energy to caregivers is about to get a huge boost of support. We are partnering with some major friends and allies in the year ahead to allow us to deliver our free services to even more of those who need us most: anyone who cares for a family member who has a chronic illness or disease.

All of our focus and resources are going toward this effort right now, so we have decided it is best to suspend our annual Oscar Night production until next year. Don't worry, our Dare2Care Gala is just on "hiatus" while we finalize this new stage of our development...we WILL be back!

With this business phase of our foundation's growth we are well positioned to develop our Oscar Night franchise into a positive and powerful live event, a vibrant TV production, and an awards season mainstay that takes the power of Hollywood and uses it for the greater good.

Our deep heartfelt thanks to all of you who have supported us and contributed your time, talent and energy to our Dare2Care Gala. We'll pick it up right here with our new partners and we'll look forward to working with all of you in 2011.

We made history with our first ever Night to Make a Difference on Oscar® night. Our live show was seen in 71 countries and we are still getting questions and comments from people all over the world who watched it live or viewed the archive.

What a blessing to have an opportunity like the night of the Academy Awards® to sprinkle a little of the magic dust from Oscar® towards advocacy and charity. We love the movies because they make us feel something...they drive us to action, cause us to question, shock us into reality, allow us to dream and remind us of our human connection. That's what making a difference is all about, and it is the reason why our viewing dinner and party made such a connection with Hollywood.
